The Aries underneath
Aries season opens the year with the spring equinox in the north, the first week light wins against the dark. You arrived on that surge of new life. You were the one who jumped first at the swimming hole, and some part of you still is. When something is on the line, you come alive.
Courage. Stand next to you for five minutes and people find they are braver too.
Patience. The fire that starts everything can burn out before the finish, so your work is learning to stay.

How decans work
Each sign is thirty degrees of the zodiac, split into three decans of ten degrees, so the Sun spends about ten days in each. Hali uses the modern decan rulers, where each decan borrows the ruler of a sign of the same element. The older Chaldean system of Hellenistic astrology hands the decans to the seven classical planets in a fixed order instead, so some books name a different ruler.
