Felt seen by The Pattern? Now see exactly why.

The Pattern is famous for that shiver of being understood. Hali gives you the shiver, then shows you the planet, the sign and the house that caused it.

The kind of line Hali writes
You fall for people slowly and all at once. Months of nothing, then one ordinary afternoon you realise you have rearranged your whole week around them.

Written from

Venus in TaurusVenus in your 5th houseVenus square Uranus

That is how every Hali reading works. The line, and right under it, the reason. You never have to wonder whether it was written for everyone born in your month.

Every line shows its source

Each paragraph names the placements it comes from. A line that can't point to your chart doesn't get written. Feeling seen, with the receipts.

Anyone you love, free

Compare your chart with anyone, any day, from their birthday. No daily limit and no paid friend slots. The Pattern gives free accounts 3 Bonds a day.

Houses you can trace

Hali uses Placidus houses, tells you which system it used, and explains why a planet can sit in a different house on another app.

Your chart, compatibility and timing tools are free. The one thing to buy is paid once and yours to keep. Go Deeper+ starts at $14.99 a month.

Why your houses may not match

The Pattern uses Whole Sign houses, where your whole Rising sign is your 1st house and each sign after it is the next house. Hali uses Placidus, which divides the sky by the time each part of it takes to rise. Both are old and respected, and they often put a planet in different houses. If The Pattern says your Sun is in your 10th house and Hali says your 9th, neither app has made a mistake. They are answering different questions. Above about 66° latitude Placidus stops working, so Hali switches to Whole Sign there and tells you.

It keeps score

The daily reading in the Hali app makes small calls you can check against your actual day. You mark each one Landed, Partly or Not today, and Hali keeps the tally, misses included. We would rather be checked than be vague.

A birth time you never have to second guess

An hour off can move your Rising sign and every house. Hali converts your local time with the official time zone database, catches the times that happened twice or never because of daylight saving and asks which you meant, and shows the conversion on every result. You never have to wonder whether to add an hour. Every change to the engine also has to reproduce 20 independently verified charts before it ships. How it’s made shows the whole method.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to The Pattern?

If you want to know where your reading comes from, try Hali. Every paragraph names the placements in your chart behind it, compatibility with anyone is free from their birthday, and there is no subscription. Your birth chart is free on haliknows.com with no account or email.

Why are my houses different on The Pattern?

The Pattern's help center says it uses the Whole Sign house system, where each house is one whole sign. Hali uses Placidus, which divides the sky by the time each part of it takes to rise, and switches to Whole Sign above about 66° latitude, where Placidus stops working. The two systems often put a planet in different houses, so neither app has made a mistake.

Is compatibility free on The Pattern?

As of 28 October 2026, The Pattern's help center says free accounts can view 3 Bonds a day, with unlimited Bonds for subscribers. Adding someone who is not on The Pattern uses a Custom Friend slot. Every account gets 1 free, and more come in paid packs from $9.99 to $19.99 on the US App Store. On Hali, compatibility with anyone is free, from their birthday.

How much does The Pattern cost?

On the US App Store, as of 28 October 2026, Go Deeper+ is listed at $14.99 a month, $29.99 a quarter or $83.99 a year. Hali has no subscription. Its one paid reading is $19.99, paid once.

Which is better if I don't know my birth time?

The Pattern says it can only generate a portion of your insights without a birth time. Hali says exactly what it leaves out. Without a time there is no Rising sign and no houses, the Moon is marked as approximate, and every planet, sign and aspect is still there.
