Love Co-Star? Wait until a reading shows you why.
You know the feeling. A line stops you mid scroll because it could only be about you. Hali is built for that feeling, and then it shows you the exact part of your sky it came from.
You can tell from one text whether someone means it. You have always been able to, and it has cost you some easy friendships and saved you from worse.
Written from
Every reading on Hali works like that. The line, and right under it, the reason. When it lands, you know why. When it doesn’t, you can see that too.
Every line shows its source
Each paragraph names the placements it comes from. A line that can't point to your chart doesn't get written. Two Scorpios get two different readings, because they were born under two different skies.
Anyone you love, free
Add your partner, your crush or your mom by their birthday and see how your charts meet. They don't need the app. On Co-Star, adding someone by hand is $2.99.
No made up Rising sign
Don't know your birth time? Hali leaves out your Rising sign and houses instead of guessing, and tells you why. Everything it does show is real.
No subscription, ever
Your chart, compatibility and timing tools are free. The one thing to buy is paid once and yours to keep. Co-Star's Pro-Star is $8.99 a month.
Free on Hali, in your browser right now
No download, no account, no email. Put in your birthday and go.
- Your full birth chart, with the wheel, every house and aspect, and the time zone conversion shown so you can trust it

- Your life chapters and your profection year, the old timing systems that say which part of your chart is running your life now
- Your Moon’s mansion, the one of 28 lunar stations you were born under
It keeps score
The daily reading in the Hali app makes small calls you can check against your actual day. You mark each one Landed, Partly or Not today, and Hali keeps the tally, misses included. We would rather be checked than be vague.
The chart underneath is real
Hali converts your birth time with the official time zone database, catches the times that happened twice or never because of daylight saving, and shows the conversion on every result. Every change to the engine has to reproduce 20 independently verified charts, from Astro.com, TimePassages and NASA JPL’s DE421 ephemeris, before it ships. How it’s made shows the whole method.

The honest bit
Co-Star is a beautifully made app with a huge community, and it lets you pick your house system, which Hali doesn’t. If all your friends are on it, keep it for them. Then put your chart into Hali, free, and see which one sounds more like you.
Your turn
Four thousand years of sky, calculated for the minute you arrived.
Free birth chart with the wheel, your Sun, Moon and Rising, every house and aspect, and a reading that shows the placement behind every line.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Co-Star alternative?
If you want to know why a reading says what it says, try Hali. Every paragraph names the placements in your chart it comes from, compatibility with anyone is free from their birthday, it never invents a Rising sign when you don't know your birth time, and there is no subscription. Your birth chart is free on haliknows.com with no account or email.
Is Hali free like Co-Star?
Hali's birth chart and compatibility are free on haliknows.com with no account or email, and you can compare charts with anyone by their birthday. As of 28 October 2026, Co-Star charges $2.99 to add someone who is not on Co-Star and offers a Pro-Star subscription at $8.99 a month on the US App Store. Hali has no subscription. Its one paid reading is $19.99, paid once.
Is Hali more accurate than Co-Star?
We don't claim that. Co-Star says it uses NASA JPL data. What Hali adds is proof you can check. Every change to its engine has to reproduce a set of independently verified charts before it goes live, and the method is published on our How it's made page.
Does Co-Star use AI? Does Hali?
Co-Star describes its readings as interpreted by real human astrologers who collaborate with AI technology. Hali uses AI to write readings and says so. The AI works only from the facts Hali's engine calculates for your chart and cites them paragraph by paragraph.
Which is better if I don't know my birth time?
Hali leaves out your Rising sign and houses, because they change every few minutes and a guess would be wrong more often than right. You still get every planet, sign and aspect, with the Moon marked as approximate. Co-Star doesn't say publicly what it shows without a birth time.
