Every reading and article on Hali follows the same editorial standards. This page describes what those standards are and why they exist.

How readings are written

Hali readings are generated by a structured rule engine. Each rule maps a chart condition (planet in sign, planet in house, aspect between planets) to an interpretation. Rules are written by our team, which includes astrology practitioners, writers and editors.

Every rule goes through the same process. A practitioner drafts the interpretation based on traditional and modern astrological sources. A second reviewer checks it against real charts to make sure it reads accurately in context. An editor reviews the language for clarity and tone. Only after all three steps does a rule enter the engine.

How articles are written

Learning guides and articles on the Hali site are written by our editorial team. Each article is researched using established astrological texts and cross-referenced with multiple sources. We cite traditions and techniques by name so readers can verify claims independently.

Articles are reviewed for accuracy by at least one practitioner and edited for clarity before publication. We update articles when new information or reader feedback warrants it, and we show the most recent update date.

Sourcing and transparency

We draw on a range of astrological traditions, including Hellenistic, medieval and modern psychological astrology. When an interpretation comes from a specific tradition or technique, we say so. When reasonable astrologers disagree, we acknowledge the disagreement rather than presenting one view as settled fact.

Every sentence in a Hali reading includes a reference to the placement it is based on. If you see a statement about your emotional life, you can trace it to the Moon's sign, house and aspects. Nothing appears without a receipt.

What we will not do

These are firm editorial rules, not suggestions.

  • No health predictions. We will not diagnose conditions, predict illness or suggest medical treatments.
  • No death predictions. We will not predict when someone will die or imply mortal danger.
  • No fear-based language. We describe challenging placements honestly but without manufacturing dread.
  • No compatibility scores. We will not reduce human relationships to a number or percentage.
  • No fabricated placements. If a placement is not in your chart, we will not write about it.
  • No vague filler. If a section would only contain generic statements, we leave it out entirely.
